THE College is permanently affiliated to the Kathmandu University and fully recognized by the Nepal Medical Council, Sri Lanka Medical Council, General Medical Council of Great Britain (UK) and is enlisted in the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates of USA (ECFMG), WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools.

TEACHING HOSPITAL:
The Teaching Hospital is of 1050 beds with 30 beds for Post Doctoral students in Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Urology and Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery.
The Hospital has beds for all the disciplines of Medicine and Surgery as necessary for the curriculum of the K.U. The Hospital bed occupancy rate is above 70% in an average. The Medical College provides facilities from routine examination of blood and body fluids to C.T. Scan, MRI, Echo, TMT, Holter and sophisticated Biochemical Investigation procedures.
Catheterization Laboratory and Open Heart Surgeries will be started soon. The Department of Neurology is very active with regular academic activities and investigative procedures like EEG, EMG, and ENMG are being done. The Department of Urology is very actively involved in various surgical procedures and the renal transplantation will be done soon.
The Institution caters the health care needs of nearly 2.5 million populations. The tertiary Medical Care facility is well reputed in the country. Apart from the services rendered to the population, faculties are involved in active research and quality medical education to the Medical Students of Undergraduates,
Post Graduates and Post Doctoral Programmes.
The college is housed in an ultramodern building, with state of art equipments. The students are of multi-ethnic origin and live in harmony under the same roof committed to professional competence and excellence.
The faculty members are the elites of their respective field of specialization some of the professors are the Authors of Medical text books.and they are committed to a holistic development of the students to become useful doctors to the society.

The above mentioned requirements are according to the Medical Council of India specifications.
Eligibility Requirements for International Students:
There is no entrance examination. SAT/TOEFL is not required.
Note: To calculate eligibility we take the midpoint of each grade and this should total up to an aggregate of at least 50% in all the subjects taken at “A” levels and also when adding the grade for English at “O” level.
Grades & Marks Equivalence:
Srilanka GCE ‘A’ & ‘O’ level grades – valid from 2002
Distinction (A): 75-100% Midpoint – 87.5
Very Good Pass (B): 65-74% Midpoint – 69.5
Credit Pass (C): 50-64% Midpoint – 57
Ordinary Pass (S): 35-49% Midpoint – 42
London ‘A’ & ‘O’ level grades:
Grade (A): 80% and above Midpoint – 90
Grade (B): 70-79% Midpoint – 74.5
Grade (C): 60-69% Midpoint – 64.5
Grade (D): 50-59% Midpoint – 54.5
Grade (E): 40-49% Midpoint – 44.5
Grade (N): 35-39%
To calculate eligibility we take the midpoint of each grade and this should total up to an aggregate of at least 50% in all the subjects taken at “A” levels and also when adding the grade for English at “O” level. In case the marks do not tally upto 50% when using the mid points of each grade range, we advise students to apply to their boards and ask for actual marks. The Boards then send the marks to us, in confidence. The student may prove to be eligible if he/she has obtained a higher score than the midpoint of the grade and the total adds up to be 50% or more.
Provisional Admission:
Students are requested to apply with photocopies of their 10+2,A & O level grade sheets.
Communication:
For faster correspondence, students may fax or courier photocopies of their X and XII standard mark sheets. Please ensure that the covering letter with the application have your postal address/
Email/phone/fax number. Please write your postal address, email address/ phone/ fax numbers
on the admission application. On receiving the photocopies of the mark sheets, if the student is found eligible, provisional admission will be offered. A seat may be reserved on receipt of the first installment.
Confirmed Admission:
Confirmed admission letter will be sent after the First installment. The letter may be used for a student visa for International students and for Indian citizens visa is not required. The college is situated in Bharatpur, of Chitwan district amidst scenic beauties.
The Bharthpur is surrounded by lofty Anapurna range of The Himalyas on the north; Narayani the second largest river of Nepal on the west; Manokamna the abode the Goddess Durga on the east with its state of the art Austrian cable car services and on the south proximity to India with the nearest town Gorakhpur and Raxual.
Travel Information:
You can come to Bharatpur, by air or by road.
Air:
International flights to Kathmandu, and domestic flights from Katmandu to Bharatpur. (Flying time- 15 minutes).
Passport or Election card are necessary for entry to Nepal if traveling by air.
The domestic airport is at walk able distance from the college which may take approximately 5 minutes.
Road/Railways:
From Bihar Raxual is the Nearest Railway station. 120 Kms From UP, Gorakhpur is the Nearest Railway station 210 Kms
No documents are necessary by road .
Indian denomination notes of Rs 500 or Rs 1000 are banned in Nepal.
Working Hours & Miscellaneous Information:
The college working hours are from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Saturday is the weekly off in Nepal.
