The Bachelor of Computer Science and IT is a four-year, eight semester program. It combines the study of software and hardware, and information and communication technologies, to provide students with the skills needed for a challenging and evolving career.For fulfilling the need of todays job market in the field of IT profession which is one of the emerging career and the program consists of many elective courses in total of 126 credit hours.

The BSc.CSIT focuses on areas in IT, database management, computer programming, information system analysis and design, communication and networks, client-server management, software analysis, design and management, security, e-business, project management, web-based technology and professional practice in IT.

Objectives

The objective of this program is to prepare students to pursue career advancement in the field of information technology. At the completion of this degree, student may be able to design real-world e-media products or create technical solutions to hardware and software problems, depending on your chosen area of focus.

However the main aim of B.Sc. (CSIT) program can be enlisted as,

  1. To offer intensive knowledge in the theory, design, programming and application of computers.
  2. To provide necessary knowledge in the field of functional knowledge of hardware system and the and necessary knowledge of computer software system.

 

Eligibility for Admission

The candidate applying for B. Sc. (CSIT) program must have

  1. A candidate for being eligible for admission in Bachelor of Science (Computer Science and Information Technology) Degree Course shall have passed XIIth Standard or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subject and should have secured at least 2nd division marks in aggregate.
  2. Applicants are required to appear in the entrance test conducted by Institute of Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University (ISOT-TU) and should secure at least 35% marks in order to be eligible

Curriculum Structure

The B. Sc. (CSIT program will have eight semesters with 126 credit hours. Each semester shall have duration of 6 months. This program comprises of the following courses:
