Purbanchal University Vice-chancellor Prof Maheshwor Man Shrestha today said the university would re-schedule the entrance exams of BSc Nursing, B Pharma and other subjects after a committee, formed to probe into alleged malpractices in the organisation of the exams, submits its report.
The Vice-chancellor’s remarks came a day after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) raided a room at Gaushala-based Hotel Vision and found Purbanchal University entrance exam answer sheets there.
CIAA Officials had also found beer bottles in the room, which showed PU officials were not serious about checking answer sheets.
In the wake of the incident, the university formed a probe committee led by PU exam deputy controller Mohan Bahadur Basnet.
CIAA has begun investigation into abuse of authority on the part of PU officials as they were involved in indecent and unethical activities raising question on the credibility of the university.
“The committee will work on the issue after Bachelor of Engineering entrance exam scheduled to be held tomorrow,” said Shrestha, adding that the panel will submit the report next week.
CIAA has arrested Dean Ram Kumar Singh, Gothagaun-based Medical College teaching assistant Nabin Bhattarai, Lecturer Muktinath Bhattarai and a few other suspects for further investigation.
