ANNFSU calls HSEB to scrap decision

Posted: Jan 01, 2012 | Category: HSEB

An extensive assembly of one of the country's mainstream students organization has called on the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) to scrap its decision recognizing the three-month course offered in India as equivalent to Nepal's 10+2 level. The HSEB had taken a decision to this effect on December 18.

A gathering organized by All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) here on Saturday stated that the government's decision to give equivalence to the three, six or one year course in India as Nepal's 10+2 level has dealt a big blow to the Nepali students who have studied the course for two years.

It also concluded that this was a blow to quality education in the country.

The HSEB had decided to put on hold its earlier decision of giving equivalence to the three-month to one-year course offered by the National Independent School Education Organization, New Delhi.

But the Board again decided to reverse its decision on December 18. The ANNFSU has announced various protest programmes to press for scrapping the HSEB's decision.
