According to the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE), a total of 528,257 students appeared in this year's SLC exam for which 1,748 centres were set up across the country. Of the total, 446,166 were regular examinees while 82,091 were exempted.

Four police personnel providing security at a centre at Kankali Higher Secondary School in Simauragad, Bara, were injured when locals pelted them with stones for not letting them hand out chit notes to students.

Fifty-seven students were expelled on the second day of the SLC exam in the district today. A team headed by CDO Birendra Kumar Yadav and DEO Jaya Prasad Das expelled them on charges of cheating and irregularities. 

The School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations this year begin today. These exams are among the few national rituals that have managed to surpass generation gaps, class and ethnic divides and a difference in geography. It continues to go some way in binding Nepalis, at least symbolically.

This year’s School Leaving Certificate Examinations ( SLC) has begun. A total of 528,257 students throughout the country are sitting for the SLC examinations, which is considered as an iron gate in Nepal’s school education system. 

The School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination-2068 was held today across the nation in a peaceful environment, with Compulsory English exam starting at 8:00 am sharp.  Ambika Prasad Regmi, deputy controller, Office of the Controller of Examinations, Sanothimi, said today’s exam was conducted peacefully and decently, except for a few incidents.

Two examinees gave birth to babies in the examination hall on the first day of the SLC examination that kicked off on Tuesday. 

“Preparations for the exams are complete, with answer sheets and question papers already taken to all districts,” Controller Dilli Ram Rimal said at a press meet, appealing to all concerned to help conduct the exams smoothly. 

Some 528,357 students, including 82,283 exempted, are sitting for the SLC examinations scheduled to begin on March 20. Similarly, 56,000 staff members, majority of them the teachers, will be deployed to conduct the exams at 1,748 centres across the country.

After several of its attempts to conduct the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams in a free and fair manner failed to yield the desired results, the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) has announced to award centres in each district that maintain decent exam environment.
