Global Handwashing Day (GHD) is a campaign to motivate and mobilize millions around the world to wash their hands with soap. It takes place on October 15 of each year. The campaign is dedicated to raising awareness of handwashing with soap as a key approach to disease prevention.

A strong tremor rocked the eastern Nepal and the Capital Valley Sunday evening, sending panic stricken people running outdoors. The National Seismologic Centre (NSC) in Kathmandu said that the quake was measured 6.8 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in the border region of Taplejung of Nepal and Sikkim of India.
