Temporary and daily wage recruitments fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) and its department. Officer-level recruitment is managed by the MoHP, while the Regional Health Directorate (RHD) oversees recruitment below that level.
In Nepal's healthcare sector, the PSC handles recruitment for all tiers of health personnel, while the MoHP's department, regional, and district authorities handle their placement.
Guidelines for permanent, temporary, and daily wage contracts are outlined in the Civil Service Act 1993 and the Nepal Health Service Act 1997.
The Nepal Health Service Act 1997 outlines procedures for recruiting temporary positions lasting up to six months, with PSC approval required and notification to the Ministry of General Administration within seven days of appointment. Article 8B of the Nepal Health Service Act 1997 imposes restrictions on daily wage appointments.
During the fiscal year 2079/80, the Nepalese Government has implemented a substantial 15% increase in salaries across government officials. This significant adjustment also extends to Health Service Government Officials within Nepal.
The remuneration structure for Health Service Officials spans a range from Rs. 28,640 at the lower end to Rs. 66,860 at the upper end. Individuals occupying different roles within the Health Service hierarchy will experience varied levels of compensation commensurate with their responsibilities and rank.
